Güneri Içoglu is a Turkish cartoonist and humorist.
He was born in 1965. When he was a child, he has started to draw cartoon as a pupil of Oguz Aral who is founder of well-known magazin Girgir. He has worked in several periodical magazins which are Girgir, Firt, Limon, Leman, Lemanyak.
Güneri Içoglu has been in prison in 1989: One of his cartoons was considered “insulting to the Turkishness” and he was sentenced to ten months in prison. After one month he was paroled thanks to a general amnesty.
He is currently writing and drawing in Leman. In this time his well-known character is Gönül Adami and Dumur. His character Gönül Adami is a classical Turkish musician and a player of the mystical music instruments like himself in real life. Another character Dumur is also included by photos and writings...

Güneri Içoglu è un fumettista e disegnatore satirico turco. È nato nel 1965. Da bambino, ha cominciato a disegnare fumetti come allievo di Oguz Aral, fondatore della famosa rivista GirGir. Ha lavorato in numerose riviste tra cui Girgir, Firt, Limon, Leman, Lemanyak..
È stato incarcerato nel 1989: uno dei suoi fumetti è stato considerato “un insulto per la tradizione turca” ed è stato condannato a dieci mesi di prigione. Dopo un mese è stato rilasciato grazie ad un’amnistia generale.
Al momento è un disegnatore e scrittore fisso di Leman. In questo periodo il suo personaggio più noto è Gönül Adami e Dumur. Il suo personaggio Gönül Adami è un musicista classico turco ed un suonatore di strumenti musicali mistici come peraltro è lui nella vita reale...Un altro personaggio è Dumur, presentato anche in foto e scritti.
